Important Announcements:

Welcome to the Out/Law Immigration Newsletter:
Newsletters are issued periodically when we have information of interest to persons considering immigrating to Canada.

Issue 11 - September -06
This issue has items on the federal government’s axing of the Court Challenges Program and rumours it is going to introduce a Defence of Religions Act, the effect of the Third Safe Country Agreement, poll results on biometric identification and attitudes to immigration, gay refugees, Canada’s success in attracting skilled immigrants, increase in immigration from India and decrease in immigration from China, and more.

Issue 10 - September -06
The first couple of articles in this issue are about the Security and Prosperity Partnership. This has not been covered by the mainstream media, although some voices from both the left and extreme right have been raised the alarm about the impact it pose for citizens in the USA, Mexico and Canada.

Issue 9 - September -06
This issue contains articles on the federal government’s latest plans for the vote on same-sex marriage in Parliament, US border policies, and information on dual citizenship. It looks like the US is rolling up the drawbridge and that the last century of relatively free travel across an undefended border will soon be a distant memory. There has been debate about whether Canada should continue recognizing dual citizenship or require persons acquiring Canadian citizenship to renounce their existing citizenship.
