NOTICE
OF CHANGE OF POLICY
ON ASSESSMENT QUESTIONNAIRES AND FEEDBACK FORMS
FOR IMMIGRATION ADVICE
Due to the increasing number and time
I am spending reviewing Assessment Questionnaires and Feedback forms
on immigration questions, I must start charging for this professional
service. Effective immediately, there is a nominal fee of CAD $100.00
for evaluating an Assessment Questionnaire and answering any immigration
questions for an individual applicant or CAD $150.00 for two partners
(neither of whom is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of
Canada). I will not answer feedback forms or direct e-mail unless
you have first completed the Assessment Questionnaire. I will discuss
payment with you before I review the Assessment Questionnaire.
You can do a
free point assessment by going to the Citizenship and Immigration
Canada web site. In addition to assessing your eligibility as a
skilled worker according to Citizenship and Immigration Canada criteria,
I will assess whether you might qualify as:
- a self-employed
person, entrepreneur or investor according to federal selection
criteria
- a skilled
worker or business person under the Quebec selection system
- a skilled
worker or business person under any of the Provincial Nominee
Programs, all of which have their own criteria
The assessment
will include information about:
- what you
can do to improve your chances if you are not presently eligible
- what office
you should file an application in
- what the
approximate time frames would be to process an application
If you decide to
retain Smith & Hughes to represent you on your immigration application,
you will be credited with the amount paid for the assessment on the
legal fees.
